Although we use materials that reduce heat build-up wherever possible, mascot and costume wearers can get very hot inside the outfit, especially if they are engaged in any physical activity.
Additional cooling systems such as head fans, sports T-shirts and cool-vests can be provided and are highly recommended, particularly if your mascot is to be used in summer or for periods exceeeding 20 minutes at a time.
The Costume Studio can provide the following accessories...
Cool-vests - Evaporative vests that keep the body at a safe temperature for up to four hours. They are simple to use and do not need to be frozen or refrigerated before use. The vests are adjustable for different body shapes and sizes and can be cleaned in a washing machine.
Dri-gear T-shirts - Made from 100% breathable polyester designed to pull moisture away from the body keeping the wearer dry and comfortable. Dri-gear T-shirts are available in a number of sizes and colours for both men and women.
Head Fans - Installed into the mascot during construction, these battery powered fans allow fresh air to be drawn into the head and circulated around the wearer's head to keep them cool and reduce fatigue.
Cool-vests and Dri-gear T-shirts can be supplied for existing mascots, however, head fans can only be installed during construction of the mascot head.
